Home. Bored.  This is yet another reason to hate snow! I could go and shop...but then I would buy things for Grenada and I already spent all morning taking out and putting in to get the weights even. Apparently if it weighs too much no reshuffling will change it! UGH! *whiney voice*...."but I wanna take everything!" snowing I did bundle up and help it looks nice...from inside anyway! it's fake...really I was so cold! positive thought for the day: I work one more time before I am out of here. Off to a place I really cannot wait to be at! Come fast pleassssssseeeeeee!

The BIG Apple

Image
the morning started a little later than planned...it's called too much work/not enough sleep. It didn't matter...the drive to the Big Apple went real speed with lots of catching up to do! Upon reaching our gps destination...a Grendadian neighbor who just moved to the states, we proceeded to visit them. A relative came to the door quite confused to see us. I  can only imagine the questions he was thinking. We stayed parked there so that way we could check them on the way back since they were not home! We ventured to the dingy subway and away we went to the city! it.snowed. really it was beautiful but far to cold! We only went to Starbucks twice. One has to stay warm somehow if you are out in the cold too long! ...and gift cards always are a big plus She's awesome like that! Indoors became much better than the outdoors! Ms. Dale and Crista were home when we drug our damp selves back to the car. It was so good to see them

Christmas

Christmas morning.... I seriously could live without this ...and since Christmas isn't what it once was I spent the afternoon at Dwight and Heidi because my dear sis-in-law informed me that "no one should be alone on Christmas day!" we played games Ellie acting wild ..a cheesy pix attempt. now it is back to work on Christmas eve. I.hope.tomorrow.is.a.better.day. It will be....I am leaving this state! Don't get me wrong...Pa is ok...it's just time to get away!

Family Christmas

Christmas time... I can celebrate it with lights, trees, gifts, food and family but it is so much more that I need to remember. Oswald Chambers said it well: "Jesus Christ was born into this world, not from it. He did not emerge out of history; He came into history from the outside. Jesus Christ is not the best human being the human race can boast of-He is a Being for whom the human race can take no credit at all. He is not man becoming God, but God Incarnate- God coming into human flesh from outside it. His life is the highest and the holiest entering through the most humble of doors. Our Lord's birth was an advent- the appearance of God in human form. Just as our Lord came into human history from outside it, He must also come into me from outside. Have I allowed my personal human life to become a "Bethlehem" for the Son of God?" It is so much more than my Lord coming as a babe...I must reflect on the cross and what that birth really led too. It's been one of those weeks...you know..the kind where you accept way more things than you should and the thing that gets pushed aside the most is the very thing that is needed to keep you going- SLEEP! Why is it so much fun to pull all nighters when you are a kid but 15 yrs later, nine hours of sleep in four days just don't quite cut it! Oh to be young again...lol. Thus said I am so ready for a weekend. Too bad I still have 20+ hours of work before that time. Wake me up when Jan. 1 comes! I laughed and laughed...oh to be young and dumb! Those ancient journals hold lots to be humored by. I am thankful for them now :)...and that little book..hmmm...oh the things people give you long long ago! ...it's Christmas time...for just a few more days! ok... .....time .........for ..............work ........................again

*to be young again*

I had the privilege of babysitting these adorable kiddos today. I cannot say I am ready for five kids but they did amazing. We played trains, hide-n-seek, and they played and styled my hair for over an hour! Oh the fun of kids :) Cooper is a sneaky one but with so much cuteness it is hard to tell! Anna and Parker  *you can see Parker doesn't have a mother...lol* No coat could be found so big brother's hoody had to work for the short time! Devaya and I Evan and the chips..I think he ate most of the bag!?..oops...I'm just the babysitter. ...and always time for Wii...I did manage to win some if I didn't have too many hands helping me! lol Evan and Devaya were gone on field trip in the morning and then they made these beautiful houses! lots of wash...It was a Monday after all! crazy faces all around!

It's been said, "You can choose your friends...but not your family." Oh well...it's one of those things of life. It was a FOX Christmas supper. One I haven't attended in years. Wow...kids I remember being born, now have kids of their own! My father was from a family of 18 kids. The 99th grandchild is on the way. Is it any wonder I don't know all my cousins? Grandma now has 80 some great grandchildren.  ...the Fox name sure won't die that way... My dear nephew....and also my beautiful cousin some of the many new friends...I believe so! He was simply adorable. there were games of vball...It appeared much better than years gone by when I helped! A childhood cousin's kid...Jackson Could this get any better?...well I was wishing for my zoom halfway across the gym cuz they were wearing them on their heads.  He is a cutie My cousin Matt to the left is being treated for terminal can
