Become like a child

Image
Independence Day found the church heading up north on an hour long, bumpy, windy truck ride to the hot springs. The water was clear when we first reached but till the kids started bathing it was a stirred up nastiness. I must say I would have been a little more jealous that I couldn't go in if it would have been at night and cool. The water was just too warm with the sun shining! From there we went by a beach and made mountain pies. It was a new thing for most people but everyone seemed to enjoy them. After a long day we returned home wind blown and tired.                       Christian sporting the colors                      Bethany, Andell and Melody                       Keondre diving in   The boys had too much fun...*jealous*  . ..they are the best!  Kevon in the fi...

Nothing takes you (God) by surprise

Image
We all face things in life. It is life. I feel sometimes I am being stretched to something unattainable but then today I was reminded that God is never ever going to give me more than I can handle. Why does He trust me so much? I mean really? Is this really what I can handle? God you know best.... this morning as I was journaling I wrote this line  "nothing takes you by surprise"  and it reminded me of the song. So today this was the song I listened to over and over again. God you do know what is best. I never want to question you! I spent my breaks inside for various reasons today. Not the most gentle, sort of bully kind of fourth grader, came up to me on my lunch break and was like, "Miss....when was the last time I gave you a hug?" With that he wrapped his arms around me and gave me a big hug. He said...."I like that smile on your face!" Yes I did love it and coming from a child that normally doesn't study me much it was so sweet.

Independence Day

It wasn't a normal Monday. It was time to celebrate "our" country. Upon arriving at school the teachers decided to do an ALL FUN DAY! Who feels like getting into work and then having a holiday the next day. Certainly not us...or the students for that matter. In chapel we pledged our allegiance and sang the National Anthem. We had a fun time playing various games through out the day. The day was good but till the end   the fun was wearing out! Happy Independence Day  to each of you as you celebrate today!     Kindergarten sporting the spirit  Game preparation in progress  this is a game we all like to play   The whole school had a flag drawing/coloring contest  Here the kids are voting on each other's flag My students with one student missing....We missed you Maleah   We finished the day off with going to Larry and Lystra Patiently waiting for a bus  Hanging out with the ...

Sunday Evening

Sunday evening we headed to Westerhall to have a service. Upon arrival the security guy refused to allow us to drive back there. We were forced to find a next place. This one worked just fine for the occasion and we had a good time of singing and socializing.  Lifting those voices  I was Celina's soft seat  Alana and I...many good times and talks we have! His Grace is Sufficient

I awoke. I still had plenty of time to sleep. GOD....you know I haven't been sleeping much these days. Why am I awake now? So I got up and started having that personal time with him. He never lets me down but so many times I don't spend that time with him to the fullest extent that I know he longs for. The following are some of my inspirations from the morning: I Cor. 10:13 No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear.  But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it! Honestly...temptation is real. The temptation to give up when the pressure gets to great, throw in the towel when going gets tough or turn against God and walk away when he allows us to go through adversity, is a very real temptation. The promise is there...GOD IS FAITHFUL. My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.  That is why for Chri...

waters of life

Sometimes the sails of life are tipping me over. I feel windblown. Tossed back and forth.  Driven to places I never thought life would take me. But through it all the captain knows where my boat is sailing. He controls the waves and the wind.  Prov. 3:5,6; Trust in the Lord with all thine heart, lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him and He shall direct thy paths. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you;  and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you.  Is. 43:10 You know a dream is like a river, Ever changin' as it flows And a dreamer's just a vessel, That must follow where it goes Trying to learn from what's behind you, And never knowing what's in store Makes each day a constant battle, Just to stay between the shores And I will sail my vessel 'Til the river runs dry Like a bird upon the wind, These waters are my sky I'll never reach my destination, If I never try...

....the late night talks with those that mean most to you, rising before the sun, quiet walk to the fort, the enchanting lights of town, sunrise, cool breezes, alone time with God, and reaching home and enjoying a nice cup of coffee. How can a day go wrong starting like that? As I thought about my morning, I was again amazed at how awesome our God really is. We tried to do this the previous two mornings but circumstances prevented it but this morning fit perfectly. He knows me so much better than I know myself....that alone is a scary thought but comforting to know He has my best in mind! ok...so it really wasn't this cold..close though! My lovely sisters. Mel and Bay you are awesome! " For most people, we often marvel at the beauty of a sunrise or the magnificence of a full moon, but it is impossible to fathom the magnitude of the universe that surrounds us."
