Gardening

Image
We have talked of planting a garden for a long time now! We finally got the urge to do it and here are the little rows of things we planted. The garden now consists of planted cherry tomatoes, carrots, red beets, beans, peas and cucumbers. Five days later here is what we got..thanks to all the rain we have been having! Whether each row will even hold enough of whatever it has to make a meal remains to be seen but hey we tried. It was fun anyway! peas or beans...we don't remember. I am thinking beans possibly!

Risks

Image
RISKS To laugh is to risk appearing the fool, To weep is to risk being called sentimental. To reach out to another is to risk involvement. To expose feelings is to risk showing your true self. To place your ideas and your dreams before the crowd is to risk being called naive. To love is to risk not being loved in return, To live is to risk dying, To hope is to risk despair, To try is to risk failure But risks must be taken, because the greatest risk in life is to risk nothing. The person who risks nothing, does nothing, has nothing, is nothing, and becomes nothing. He may avoid suffering and sorrow, but he simply cannot learn, feel, change, grow or love. Chained by his certitude, he is a slave; he has forfeited his freedom. Only the person who risks is truly free. Risks. Life is a risk. How true this is. But all these risks were already done by Jesus when he was here on earth. He loved in yet many persecuted him in return. He put hope in his dis...

this crazy life

Time is going ever so fast. One and a half weeks of our vacation is gone and I seriously don't know where it went. Yes I am slacking off in blogging. I cannot find time except at hours such as these. Fortunately this is one of the nights where sleep is not coming and I am in the mood to catch up on some things. My last blog was on my little vacation. The youth went to the small island of Petite Martinique for the next two days after that to do a one night crusade followed by a Bible school for the kids. It was a good trip. The boat ride was smooth....actually too smooth. I would have loved a little bit more excitement. Of course the whole time was spent on the front of the boat getting wind and sea water blown all the while watching flying fish and some "supposedly" saw a whale. I missed that one! At our first stop we were unloaded and reloaded in a boat. a very small boat. a boat that had few windows and you were way down in the water. No more fresh air. It wasn't a ...

We all need times to get away from the normality of busy life and relax with other things to do. This is how our two week Easter break started for the blue house. We took two days away from the life in LaBorie and retired to a place where the reality that we we live in Grenada was nearly nonexistent. Today we returned home so we could unpack to repack so we can be gone to a next island Petite Martinique for two days with the youths.    We had to wait for the fine dining to open so we used up the time by taking many many pictures. These are only a few of the masses that we had.     They had a coffee menu like nothing I have seen here yet! It had simply amazing drinks. GO GRENADA!!!! This is my ultimate favorite picture.     poolside food There were two of these jacuzzis atop the pool. We are so busy that these were the only two days from now to the end of school that the three of us could squeeze in a l...

Kites

Image
Yes these kites you must heave high to get them up and singing and be sure to watch them booting all around in the strong Caribbean breezes! I didn't end up spending much of my time watching kites but more so watching tangled kite thread and trying to unthread it! Not the most fun...but what had to be done nonetheless. I was more than happy when lunch time came and it was time to call it a day. A day...the last day before two weeks of holiday. To say I am excited is an understatement!
