School ending

Image
It is the end of the trimester and along with it comes NO WORK!!! After much packets of worksheets cluttering their desks I decided a break was needed. Out for icecream we went. I was way in the back most of the way and I had to keep reminding them to stop running in the road. Their excitement was hard to contain. Upon arrival the shop was closed. The nice thing was it is my student's sister that owns it so in no time "mama" was there with shop open and ice cream was in their hands. It was a great way to end the week and second trimester. On the way home we HAD to stop and see Celina's puppy.Tomorrow is kite day and then the real long break comes! I have never been so ready.. ...and it is closed!!! Here we are...                                                                                     And the joy of holding the puppy

Field Trip

Image
...Yesterday was field trip. It was a short day but a good one. Our first stop was at the museum in St. George's. We were shown each and every thing and told the history of it. The students did exceptionally well with listening even though some of it was much above their heads. Following the tour of the museum we hiked it up some large amounts of steps to Fort George. There the students unleashed some energy by going through the tunnels and getting a good look of town from a higher perspective. After eating lunch up there it was time to go home!  one student missing. my student. she was out all week so I told her she could not come today either! Fish

Yes I have lived in Grenada nearly 3 years and have never bought fish from the fish market. We made an early departure to town to make sure that we had some picking choice yesterday. Not like we really knew anyway what was "exceptionally" good. Upon arrival we decided it would be barracuda- a small shark. We have yet to try it but it is in the freezer awaiting consumption!   The rest of the morning was spent on the beach with an exceptionally nice day. The past month of Saturdays have been filled with scattered rain showers and not nearly enough sunshine to keep the skin looking healthy! The skin is looking overly healthy now! Sometimes I wonder if I will ever learn. In the late afternoon was a staff picnic on Quarenteen Point. Pretty much just a time of relaxing, playing games, enjoying the small beach with some of the kiddos, and of course the normal- Eating! In honor of St. Patricks Day we wore Green!  Kaden, Tracy and Juliane Death by Chocolate Des

A day

It was one of those days. I kinda felt like this beast I am seeing. ... transparent...sad thing is I didn't really care if I was readable! Sometimes it seems (like this beast) I am on the outside looking in...or is it the inside looking out? Either way...a helpless feeling but one that is a part of the day sometimes. Bible Club trip yesterday turned out to be a rainy one. We thought the rain had let up enough to try it. We did have some dry time but it was a short afternoon.   taking shelter from the rain  Tashyra Timicah Dajur  Lily entertaining themselves one on one football

...Kaden...

I know I have posted pictures of my beloved godchild but really he does mean pretty much to me. This past weekend I kept him for the day on Sunday. He was an angel in church by sleeping the entire time. It is amazing how much he can sleep when he is out of the noise of a home shared with  10 + people. I forget how much work they can be. I thought he maybe could sleep with me in the afternoon. It is hard to sleep with balls pelted against your face, cars driven on you and eyes poked out.... all to the sound of ma ma ma! I decided since I had the opportunity I might as well do a little photo shoot with him. Plans were to go to the fort after our afternoon service at the poor house. The rest of the group came as well which worked out fine and we didn't have to walk home with Kaden! "A person's a person no matter how small."
