Sports Day

Image
I awoke to a noise outside in the morning darkness....hmmm! So they thiefing the bananas eh? I bawl out the window "Eh eh...what going on there...who cutting them bananas?" They replied with the proper answer as if they were the neighbor man who owns them. Little did they know the neighbor man is gone away in the states. I decided it wasn't worth me getting out of bed and turning on the light and trying to see the guilty culprit. They weren't my bananas anyway. Soon rain began to fall....yes this was the postponed day for sports. By daylight the rain was finished and it deemed a cloudy but rainless day for Sports. The day was a fun one with the sun even shining in the late afternoon.     waiting for the day to get started  The Limes and Laura Sr. Girls competing...we don't have any girls in this division!   Yeah...RED pom-poms for LaBorie           Kody doing the windball toss  Bag race...a race I would never...

Rain Rain GO AWAY

Sports day was cancelled and so was school due to rain AGAIN! It has been raining a lot these days. Especially on days when things are planned. It was quite the trial finding homes for students with working parents and calling numbers that are no longer existing. We had a few kids by our house for a bit of the morning. It was time to get out of the house so off to town we went! In the evening we had girls club. Girls club has been pretty sporadic with attendance. This week it was not. There were quite a few younger ones as well as a group of older ones which made it nice for everyone. Singing was very fun, bible lesson, craft and then games. The spoons game got pretty wild.   Loud it was....and loud it would have stayed if the bus hadn't reached!  The 8 year olds I am between two of my students....Keona and Celina. Keona brought her friend Jade along for the first time. It was nice to have her here also!

When I Grow Up

My kids love to sing. Right now for some reason they keep picking the song "When I Grow Up." The chorus goes: "When I grow up I wanna be just like you, so don't disappoint me I can see what you do. If you follow Jesus I will follow him too, so don't disappoint me, I can see what you do." Don't forbid little children to come unto Him For such is the kingdom of God, Always set an example that points out the way And do what the Lord has to say. Don't forget little children become big folks some day For what you see becomes what you do. If you walk with Jesus, I'll walk with Him too. So don't forget, I'm close behind you. I really like the song but when it's time for the chorus it gets me every time. Maybe it is those 12 hands and 60 fingers that are pointing my way. Today I pointed back at them and they had a few words to say as soon as the song finish! "Miss....WE ARE FOLLOWING YOU! You can't foll...

another week over

Another week has come and gone already. Time isn't stopping. Practicing for sports day is a big thing at school right now.   taking a lime while waiting to run  Older students practicing  Yes this is my dear student Maleah. She makes me laugh all the time! Good or bad?? I am not sure! one of the students had my camera...Leandrah is a cute one!  My dear Nigel...he is so lovey these days! I think the girls are affecting him :)  Pretty sure I would never participate in this race! And then the Prince and Princess came to Grenada on a ship. We were told they were passing by the main road so we packed up and waited at the bus stop. Not too long later a forerunner passed and gave us flags and said in another 5 minutes they should reach.   Patiently waiting   Flags in hand and ready!  Police escort...followed by Prince Edwards in the white car and Princess Sophia in the black car! ...

It was one of those days that needed a good ending. With quality time spent out for supper at True Blue, worries are kissed good bye. As you can see by the rest of this blog quite a few photos were taken. Yes..we enjoy that very much. Here are a few... of course it started with some amazing food. That pumpkin soup was mines! It was even better yet than it looked!  Beautiful sisters  There were so many nice amazing gates. This homeowner wasn't too sure about us!  I believe they fail to read signs possibly...oh well!   So we toured a resort...I will stay there some night! It was very hard to remember I was in Grenada!
